Mistakes Buyers make

February 15, 2011 - Updated: February 15, 2011
  1. The biggest mistake is not choosing a Real Estate Agent who is committed to form a strong business relationship with you. Make sure the Real Estate Agent you choose, is dedicated to meet your Real Estate needs- Before, during and after the sale.
  2. Get qualified before you start looking for a house. It's like knowing how much money you have in your pocket when you go shopping. Pre-qualification will make your life easier.Take time out to talk to your mortgage advisor and/or your bank. Their evaluation of your income, financial obligations will help determine a price range that will fit your budget. This is one of the most important steps on the path of home ownership.
  3. Not knowing the costs involved is a recipe for disaster. Early on in the buying process, ask your Real Estate Agent or mortgage advisor for an estimate of closing costs.
  4. Not searching beyond the Open house or internet means you are just looking at the tip of the Iceberg. There are way too many properties that either don't get advertised on the internet or are sold as soon as they are contracted through personal networks of Agents.
